The Startup Association of Bangladesh (SAB), a key organization playing an important role in the country’s startup ecosystem, has formed its new executive committee for the 2026–2027 term. Saiful Islam has been re-elected as President, while Md Ashraful Islam has been appointed as General Secretary.
The new committee was formed unanimously at the Association’s General Meeting and Executive Council Meeting held on January 27, 2026.
In the newly formed committee, the Vice Presidents are Abdur Rashid Sohag, Dr Nasir Uddin, Ibnul Qayes Arian, Abdullah Mohammad Hasan, Anisul Islam Suman, and Mosharraf Hossain.

Members at the meeting expressed optimism that under the leadership of the newly formed committee, Bangladesh’s startup ecosystem will become more organized and dynamic.
It is worth noting that the Startup Association of Bangladesh was established on May 13, 2023. Saiful Islam has been serving as the founding President, while Faisal Rabbi served as the founding General Secretary until now.
In his remarks, President Saiful Islam said, “Being re-elected as President of the Startup Association is an honor for me. In the coming days, we will work to further strengthen the country’s startup ecosystem by enhancing the capacity of young entrepreneurs, strengthening policy support, improving investment linkages, and expanding international collaboration.”
He added that the Startup Association will work in close coordination with the government, private sector, and development partners to promote technology-driven innovation, ensure sustainable growth of SMEs and startups, and create employment opportunities.
Since its establishment in 2023, the Startup Association of Bangladesh has been working as a representative platform for startup entrepreneurs, with the goal of fostering innovation, entrepreneurial culture, and sustainable economic growth in the country.
