Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Home Affairs of the 13th National Parliament has formally recommended placing the "Armed Police Battalion (APBn) Bill, 2026" before the Jatiya Sangsad.
The resolution was adopted on Sunday (September 6) during a committee meeting convened at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in Dhaka. The session was presided over by the Chairman of the parliamentary standing committee, Zainul Abedin.
During the meeting, committee members conducted a thorough examination and review of the draft provisions outlined in the "Armed Police Battalion (APBn) Bill, 2026" ahead of formulating their official evaluation report. Following comprehensive scrutiny and clause-by-clause deliberations, the parliamentary body unanimously endorsed submitting the draft legislative report to the plenary session of the house.
Opposition members of parliament in attendance extended their appreciation to the committee chairman for steering inclusive discussions and incorporating their constructive inputs and feedback during the review process. The committee also conveyed formal commendations to all technical personnel, administrative officials, and stakeholders involved in drafting and scrutinizing the legislative instrument.
