Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin
State Minister for Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin has urged trainee Assistant Commissioners (Land) to remember the Prime Minister's directive to serve citizens in a manner that makes them feel like the true owners of the republic.
He made the remarks on Thursday as a special guest at a certificate distribution ceremony for participants who completed the 48th and 49th Basic Land Management Courses, held under the management of the Ministry of Land at the Land Administration Training Centre in Dhaka.
Addressing the trainee AC (Land) officers, State Minister Mir Helal emphasized that the country's 180 million citizens are its rightful owners, directing them to discharge their duties so that everyday citizens realize through public service delivery that sovereign power rests with them.
Taking a firm stance against corruption across the land administration, he noted that a fractional one percent of corrupt individuals tarnishes the reputation of the entire department. He stressed the necessity of identifying these offenders and establishing effective systemic safeguards to counter corrupt practices.
The state minister advised the trainee officers that personal integrity alone is insufficient; they must actively inspire and lead their subordinates to work with matching honesty and competence, reminding them that administrative leadership carries ultimate responsibility for all actions within their jurisdiction.
Minister for Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare Professor Dr. A Z M Zahid Hossain attended the program as chief guest, while Minister for Land Md. Mizanur Rahman Minu and State Minister for Social Welfare Farzana Sharmin were present as special guests.
