Indian Deputy High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Pravin Kumar Tulsidas Badhe, stated that visa application and issuance procedures for Bangladeshi citizens have been significantly eased, with the Indian High Commission currently processing a high volume of visas on a daily basis.
The envoy shared these developments during a courtesy meeting on Sunday with Md. Fazlul Hoque, Administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), held at the apex trade body's office in Dhaka's Gulshan. The discussion was confirmed through an official FBCCI press release.
During the meeting, the Indian diplomat underscored the imperative of scaling up bilateral trade and investment, dismantling tariff and non-tariff barriers, and reinforcing logistics and commercial links between the two neighboring economies.
Pravin Kumar Badhe laid particular emphasis on establishing a joint "Business-to-Business" (B2B) task force to resolve trade bottlenecks and facilitate private-sector investment. He noted that his office maintains ongoing dialogue with the relevant ministries of both governments to fast-track the task force's inception, seeking proactive cooperation from Bangladesh's private sector under the FBCCI's leadership.
Welcoming the proposal, FBCCI Administrator Md. Fazlul Hoque affirmed that a joint task force would play an effective role in unlocking bilateral trade opportunities and deepening economic cooperation. He urged entrepreneurs and business leaders from both nations to build joint ventures and explore strategic investments in emerging, high-potential sectors.
