Closing workshop of agricultural research projects funded by Dutch-Bangla Bank’s ‘Special CSR Grant’ held

The closing workshop of agricultural research projects funded by Dutch-Bangla Bank and ‘Special CSR Grant’ was held on 28th June 2025 at a local hotel in Dhaka. Mr. Abul Kashem Md. Shirin, Managing Director and CEO of Dutch-Bangla Bank, presided over the inaugural session of the program.

In his presidential address at the inaugural program, Mr. Shirin said, “With the support of Dutch-Bangla Bank, research projects in the fields of crops, fisheries, poultry, irrigation and food processing and preservation have been successfully implemented in different regions of the country.”

Expressing optimism, he further said, ‘Even though the scheduled activities of the project have been completed, the partners and researchers of the projects will continue these activities.’ Finally, he thanked the members of the expert committee, researchers, partners and everyone related to the bank.

Professor Dr. Md. Manjurul Alam, Chairman of the Special CSR Committee of Dutch-Bangla Bank, presented an article on the brief results and successes of the projects. It is worth noting that 7 technology innovation projects were implemented at the farmer level in different regions of the country during the period 2023-2025 with the funding of Dutch-Bangla Bank.

A large number of participants, including top scientists/teachers/officials/entrepreneurs of agricultural research institutions/organizations, were present at the closing workshop.

The results of 7 (seven) research projects were presented in the technical session chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Manjurul Alam and Professor Imdadul Haque Chowdhury. After the presentation of the paper, the expert scientists/professors/participants present gave their opinions and suggestions.
