The University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), the first private university in Bangladesh established with a focus on information technology and science, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BDCalling IT Limited, a concern of the Betopia Group, to enhance practical skills and industry exposure for students.
The MoU was signed on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 11:00 am at the university’s conference room. On behalf of UITS, the agreement was signed by Al-Imtiaz, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), while Rony Saha, AGM of BDCalling IT Limited, signed on behalf of the company.
The signing ceremony was attended by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hasan Bhuiyan as the chief guest. Special guests included Treasurer Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, Registrar Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, and Engineer Md. Safayet Hossain, Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
Under the two-year agreement, both parties will jointly organize regular hands-on workshops for students on mobile app development, web development, UI/UX design, digital marketing, and other emerging IT fields. The collaboration will also provide opportunities for internships on real client projects, industrial visits to Betopia Group’s affiliated organizations, priority employment opportunities, on-campus recruitment, and broader cooperation as education–industry partners.
University officials said the initiative reflects UITS’s strong commitment to building an effective bridge between academia and industry, aiming to develop a skilled workforce in line with the demands of Bangladesh’s rapidly growing digital economy.
