Gold prices in the local market have increased once again, with the Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) announcing a rise of Tk3,266 per bhori.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday (1 April), the price of 22-carat gold—the highest quality—has been set at Tk247,977 per bhori, up from Tk244,711 the previous day. The new rates came into effect from 10:00am.
BAJUS said the adjustment was made in response to an increase in the price of pure gold in the international market.
Under the revised structure, 21-carat gold is now priced at Tk236,721 per bhori, while 18-carat gold costs Tk202,895 per bhori. Gold produced through the traditional method has been fixed at Tk165,279 per bhori.
Meanwhile, silver prices have remained unchanged. The price of 22-carat silver now stands at Tk5,715 per bhori, while 21-carat, 18-carat and traditional silver are priced at Tk5,424, Tk4,666 and Tk3,499 respectively.
