Gold prices in the local market have been reduced once again, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).
The price of gold has been cut by up to Tk2,216 per bhori. As a result, the price of 22-carat gold has now fallen to Tk242,000 per bhori, down from Tk244,710 on Tuesday.
BAJUS announced the new prices in a statement on Wednesday morning, saying the revised rates came into effect at 10:00am.
The association said the price adjustment was made following a decline in the price of refined (pure) gold in the international and local markets.
Under the new rates, 22-carat gold is priced at Tk242,495 per bhori. The price of 21-carat gold is Tk231,472 per bhori, 18-carat gold is Tk198,405 per bhori, and traditional gold is Tk161,605 per bhori.
Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged.
