A seminar titled "Treatment, Prevention, and Awareness of Measles" was organized by the Islami Bank Central Laboratory on Tuesday at Naya Paltan Dhaka, May 12, 2026. The event aimed to educate the public and medical professionals on managing the viral disease and the critical importance of vaccination.
Professor Dr. M. Masud Rahman, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Islami Bank Foundation and Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Joining him as special guests were Md. Abdus Salam, FCA, FCS, and Md. S. M. Abdul Hamid, FCA, both members of the Islami Bank Foundation and Directors of Islami Bank PLC. The seminar was presided over by Dr. A. A. M. Kamar Uddin Mozakkir, Acting Director of Islami Bank Central Laboratory, Naya Paltan.
During the technical session, renowned pediatric specialist Professor Dr. Ahmad Mortuza Chowdhury presented the keynote paper. He provided a comprehensive overview of measles, detailing its clinical symptoms, effective treatment protocols, and potential complications that can arise if left untreated. Dr. Chowdhury emphasized that while measles is highly contagious, it is entirely preventable through timely immunization. He urged parents and guardians to ensure children strictly adhere to the national vaccination schedule to mitigate health risks.
The seminar also saw participation from senior officials including IBF Assistant General Manager Kabir Uddin, along with the Superintendents of Islami Bank Central Hospitals in Kakrail, Naya Paltan, Motijheel, Mirpur, Mugda, and the Islami Bank Hospital & Cardiac Center, Mirpur. The speakers collectively highlighted the commitment of Islami Bank Foundation to improving public health through proactive community engagement and clinical excellence.
