The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has decreased the Jet A-1 (jet fuel) price for domestic and international airlines by Tk15.67 and $0.10 per litre, respectively.
According to the regulatory commission circular issued on Sunday, the price of Jet A-1 fuel was reduced by Tk15.67 per litre to Tk150.21 from Tk165.88 for domestic carriers.
BERC Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Sarkar said the price has been decreased by $0.1015 per litre to $0.9808 from $1.0823 for international airlines.
The new pricing would come into effect from 12am on Monday.
The BERC held a public hearing on Sunday in accordance with Sections 34 (4) and 34 (6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003, in view of the proposal of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and Padma Oil Company Limited (POCL).
Considering the detailed price according to Platts Rate of Jet A-1 from 22 May to 4 June, along with the US dollar exchange rate in Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation's (BPC) Letter of Credit (LC) settlement, the BERC adjusted the price for June.
