Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC organized the closing and certificate distribution ceremony of the Entrepreneur Development Program under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP) in Chuadanga Sadar, Chuadanga. The program is implemented by the bank under the initiative of the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance, funded by the ADB and supervised by Bangladesh Bank.
The event was chaired by Shahjalal Islami Bank Managing Director Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, while Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Hossain Ara Shikha attended as the chief guest.
Among others, Bangladesh Bank Additional Director and SICIP-PMU Program Director Md. Masum Billah, Atmashvash Executive Director Md. Akramul Haque Biswas, and Head of SME and Agriculture Investment Division of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC Md. Abdur Rahim were present, along with senior officials from the bank’s corporate head office and branch managers of the region.
A total of 25 newly trained entrepreneurs received certificates under the program. In addition, 5 selected entrepreneurs were awarded business expansion cheques worth Tk 1.6 million, while five participants were recognized in different categories with awards.
As part of the event, a colorful product fair was also organized at the training venue ground floor, where stalls of the 25 trained entrepreneurs were showcased. Innovative products from sectors including agro-processing, handicrafts, fashion, information technology, and bakery attracted significant attention from guests and officials.
Addressing the event, Managing Director Mosleh Uddin Ahmed said that there is no alternative to skilled entrepreneurs for economic development and job creation. He noted that such initiatives play a vital role in enhancing entrepreneurial capacity and building sustainable businesses.
He also added that Shahjalal Islami Bank continues to carry out development-focused CSR activities to develop skilled human resources and entrepreneurs, contributing to industrial growth and the overall economic development of the country.
