Walton Plaza, the country’s leading electronics retail and service network, has provided free medical services to the public through day-long medical camps held simultaneously at more than 700 Walton Plaza outlets across Bangladesh on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Customers of Walton Plaza, along with people from all walks of life, received free healthcare services during the initiative.
The medical camp was inaugurated at the Mirpur Mazar Road Walton Plaza in Dhaka by Walton Plaza Managing Partner SM Mahbubul Alam. During the event, he also launched a special hotline number (09606-990029) under Walton Plaza’s Happiness and Health Care Project. Through this newly introduced hotline, Walton Plaza customers will be able to access free medical consultation services.
Under the medical camp program, patients received medical consultations, prescriptions, and medicines free of charge. A blood donation campaign was also organized by the Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation. The collected blood will be used to support patients suffering from thalassemia.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, SM Mahbubul Alam said that specialist doctors were providing free healthcare services to customers and the general public through medical camps at Walton Plaza outlets nationwide. He noted that Walton Plaza continues to offer various customer-friendly programs throughout the year, including its Installment Customer Protection Policy, reflecting the company’s commitment and care for its customers. He expressed hope that other brands and companies would also be encouraged to introduce similar welfare-oriented initiatives for the public.
Among those present at the event were Walton Plaza Managing Director Mohammad Raihan, Walton Hi-Tech Deputy Managing Director Mofizur Rahman, Chief Marketing Officer Zoheb Ahmed, Senior Executive Director Tanvir Anjum, Head of HR Md. Faisal Wahid, Chief Sales Executive MM Nazmul Hasan, and beneficiaries of the healthcare services. Representatives from Walton Plaza outlets across the country joined the event online.
Walton Plaza Managing Director Mohammad Raihan said the initiative demonstrated that Walton Plaza is not solely focused on selling products but is also committed to ensuring customers’ well-being and contributing to their socio-economic development. He added that this approach has helped the company earn the trust of people across the country.
He further stated that Walton Plaza operates a unique Installment Customer and Family Protection Policy, which he described as the only one of its kind in the world. Customers purchasing products on installments receive a protection card. If a cardholder dies while installment payments are ongoing, Walton Plaza provides financial assistance ranging from Tk50,000 to Tk300,000, depending on the product value. In the event of the death of a family member of the cardholder, assistance ranging from Tk25,000 to Tk150,000 is provided. After adjusting any outstanding installment payments, the remaining amount is handed over to the cardholder or the family. Eligible family members of deceased cardholders are also offered employment opportunities within Walton.
According to Walton Plaza, more than 1,500 installment customers and their families have already received financial assistance exceeding Tk30 million under the program, while substantial amounts of outstanding installment payments have also been waived. Several more families are currently awaiting assistance.
Walton Plaza has also partnered with diagnostic centers and other service providers to extend additional benefits to installment customers. Protection cardholders are entitled to special services and discounts at hospitals, diagnostic centers, life insurance providers, restaurants, and various other establishments. To ensure year-round healthcare support, Walton has appointed Happiness and Health Officers at every Walton Plaza outlet. Selected protection cardholders are also offered opportunities for overseas travel under special consideration.
