The National Vitamin-A Plus Campaign has formally commenced across the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) area today. DSCC Administrator, Valiant Freedom Fighter Md. Abdus Salam, officially inaugurated the program at Kakoli High School and College in the capital.
Under this national initiative, DSCC has set a target to administer Vitamin-A capsules to a total of 590,538 children. The campaign aims to feed one blue-colored Vitamin-A capsule (100,000 IU) to 135,606 children aged 6 to 11 months, and one red-colored Vitamin-A capsule (200,000 IU) to 454,932 children aged 12 to 59 months.
The vaccination drive is being conducted simultaneously at 1,760 centers across the DSCC area from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM today, Sunday. To ensure the successful execution of the program at the field level, a dedicated team of approximately 3,654 volunteers and 150 supervisors has been deployed across the designated locations.
Dhaka South City Corporation has urged all city residents to provide their full cooperation and ensure spontaneous participation in the campaign to secure a healthy and safe future for the children.
