Nestlé Bangladesh PLC, in collaboration with the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), has introduced 'PushtiGro+', a cereal-based micronutrient nutrition solution designed for children aged five years and above.
The initiative was showcased at the FICCI FDI Conference, held on July 23 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Dhaka. According to the organisers, the collaboration reflects a joint commitment by the public and private sectors to improve nutrition and strengthen Bangladesh's future human capital.
According to Nestlé Bangladesh, PushtiGro+ can be easily mixed with home-cooked meals and contains probiotics, iron, zinc and essential vitamins to help address micronutrient deficiencies among children.
During the conference, Prime Minister Tarek Rahman visited the Nestlé Bangladesh pavilion, where he and other distinguished guests were briefed on the new nutrition initiative.
Dr Samina Ahmed, Chairman of BCSIR, said the partnership combines BCSIR's scientific expertise with Nestlé's global experience in nutrition, creating a strong foundation for innovation that could deliver long-term benefits through public-private collaboration.
Deepal Abeywickrema, Chairman and Managing Director of Nestlé Bangladesh PLC, said PushtiGro+ reflects the company's commitment to providing an affordable nutritional solution while helping tackle micronutrient deficiencies among children.
He added that Nestlé Bangladesh remains committed to contributing to the country's economic and social development through investments that promote sustainable and inclusive growth.
