The government has no plan to increase gas prices at this time, according to a clarification issued by Petrobangla and the Energy and Mineral Resources Division following recent media reports suggesting a possible tariff hike.
In a public notice released on Saturday, the authorities said there is currently no proposal under consideration to raise gas prices.
"The government has no plan to increase gas prices at this moment," the notice stated.
Petrobangla and the Energy and Mineral Resources Division urged the public not to be confused or misled by speculative reports regarding a possible increase in gas tariffs. They advised people to rely on official announcements for any future decisions on gas pricing.
The clarification comes after recent media reports sparked public discussion about a potential rise in gas prices across the country.
