The University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) has inaugurated the IPA FE (ITEE) Training Programme for its students under an initiative of the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), operating under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division of the Government of Bangladesh.
The inaugural ceremony was held on August 2, 2026, at the university's conference room and was jointly organised by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).
Under the programme, 40 selected UITS students will receive the internationally recognised training free of cost. The course is designed to prepare participants for the ITEE Level-2 Fundamental Engineering (FE) examination, conducted under Japan's Information Technology Promotion Agency (IPA). The certification is expected to enhance participants' professional skills and improve their employment opportunities in the global ICT industry.
UITS Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Abu Hasan Bhuiyan attended the event as the chief guest. Engineer Md Golam Sarowar, Director of the Bangladesh IT Engineers Examination Centre (BD-ITEC) under the Bangladesh Computer Council, joined the programme virtually as the special guest.
UITS Treasurer Professor Dr Siraj Uddin Ahmed was also present at the ceremony. The programme was moderated by Engineer Md Safayet Hossain, Director of IQAC. Among others present were Associate Professor Al-Imtiaz, Head of the CSE Department, and Assistant Professor Annajiat Alim Russell of BRAC University, who is serving as the Training of Trainers (TOT) instructor for the programme.
Speaking at the event, Vice-Chancellor Dr Abu Hasan Bhuiyan thanked the Bangladesh Computer Council for providing the prestigious training opportunity and highlighted the importance of internationally recognised certifications in developing globally competitive ICT professionals.
Addressing the participants virtually, Engineer Md Golam Sarowar explained the significance of the ITEE certification and encouraged students to make the most of the training to strengthen their international career prospects.
During the programme, 10 students who successfully passed the April 2026 ITEE examination were honoured with special recognition for their achievements.
The university said it remains committed to promoting academic excellence, strengthening collaboration with industry and equipping students with internationally competitive professional skills. The initiative is expected to further contribute to the advancement of Bangladesh's ICT sector.
