On the third day of fund disbursements, 10,697 depositors withdrew a total of Tk 381 crore from Sommilito Islami Bank.
The withdrawals took place on Wednesday (September 9). Bank management confirmed that regular financial operations and incoming cash flows continue to function alongside the payouts.
According to bank records, the submission window for withdrawal applications opened on September 1, when 18,046 customers initially applied to withdraw Tk 1,325 crore. Against those requests, 8,125 depositors retrieved Tk 319 crore on September 7. That same day, the bank took in Tk 141 crore in fresh liquidity (Tk 93 crore via cash counters and Tk 51 crore via RTGS, BFTN, and clearing systems) across 16,600 transactions.
On the second application day (September 2), 19,613 customers sought withdrawals totaling Tk 1,016 crore, leading to disbursements of Tk 340 crore to 7,234 customers on September 8. Inflows on September 8 stood at Tk 195 crore (Tk 90 crore in counter cash alongside Tk 105 crore through clearing and interbank platforms) over 16,050 separate transactions.
On September 3, a total of 21,086 depositors filed applications for Tk 963 crore, against which Wednesday's third-day disbursement of Tk 381 crore was cleared for 10,697 account holders.
Md. Abedur Rahman Shikdar, Managing Director of Sommilito Islami Bank, stated: "Alongside processing customer withdrawal requests, fresh capital flows into the bank remain steady. Routine banking operations on individual accounts are functioning normally and will continue uninterrupted."
