Parveen Akter joined the state-owned Karmasangsthan Bank as Deputy Managing Director The Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance recently issued an official notification appointing her to this executive position at the bank.
Parveen Akter is an experienced and highly skilled career banker. Prior to her current role, she served as Deputy Managing Director at several notable financial institutions, including Palli Sanchay Bank, Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank, Bangladesh Development Bank PLC, and Agrani Bank PLC. Earlier in her career, she also held executive leadership roles as General Manager at Bangladesh Krishi Bank and Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation (BHBFC).
Her professional journey began in 1996 when she joined the Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation as a Senior Officer. Throughout her long career, she discharged her duties across various key operational departments with high dedication, competence, and sincerity. To continually broaden her expertise in the banking sector, she attended numerous professional training programs, workshops, and seminars both domestically and internationally.
Academically, Parveen Akter completed her Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in 1988 and her Master’s degree in 1990 from the Department of Economics at the University of Dhaka.
In her personal life, she is the mother of a daughter and hails from a respectable Muslim family in the Dewanganj Upazila of Jamalpur district.
