Gold prices have climbed once again in the domestic market, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) raising the rate of hallmarked 22-carat gold by Tk 1,691 per bhori (11.664 grams). Including value-added tax (VAT), the retail price of top-tier 22-carat gold jewelry now stands at Tk 2,34,621 per bhori.
The revised pricing structure came into effect at 10:00 AM on Saturday (September 19). According to an official circular signed by Dr. Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin, Chairman of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring, the adjustment reflects an upward rally in the price of pure gold (tezabi gold) in the local market following a meeting convened Saturday morning.
Under the new tariff, 21-carat gold has been marked up by Tk 1,575 to Tk 2,24,065 per bhori, while 18-carat gold rose by Tk 1,301 to Tk 1,92,397 per bhori. The price for traditional (sanatan) method gold has been fixed at Tk 1,57,172 per bhori following a hike of Tk 1,108.
Concurrently, BAJUS adjusted silver prices upward across all tiers. Including VAT, 22-carat silver has been increased by Tk 117 to Tk 5,132 per bhori; 21-carat silver rose by Tk 175 to Tk 4,957; 18-carat silver climbed by Tk 175 to Tk 4,257; and traditional method silver was raised by Tk 116 to Tk 3,207 per bhori.
With this revision, gold prices in Bangladesh have been adjusted 116 times so far this year—comprising 58 hikes and 58 reductions—surpassing the 93 total price adjustments recorded throughout 2025.
