Standard Chartered CEO Naser Ezaz Bijoy and ICAB President exchanging strategic partnership documents
Standard Chartered Bangladesh in strategic partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) on Sunday (September 27) evening officially launched a dedicated, tailored suite of priority wealth management and corporate banking services designed exclusively for professional chartered accountants. Unveiled during an executive signing ceremony at the ICAB Council Hall in Kawran Bazar, Dhaka, the specialized partnership provides chartered accountants and auditing practitioners with preferential global credit facilities, bespoke wealth advisory, and expedited cross-border business capital remittances.
Under the freshly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), registered members of ICAB will gain seamless access to Standard Chartered's flagship Priority Banking global network, offering international multi-currency cards, preferential lending margins on residential mortgages, and waived processing fees on professional enterprise setup loans. The proposition also incorporates specialized corporate advisory services tailored for practicing auditing firms, facilitating digital payroll automation, automated escrow treasury solutions, and cross-border commercial trade finance.
Addressing senior partners of leading accounting firms attending the gala launch, banking executives highlighted that professional chartered accountants serve as the critical intellectual anchors of corporate governance, fiscal transparency, and financial auditing in Bangladesh. Despite their indispensable role in evaluating billions of dollars in corporate balance sheets, independent accounting practitioners have historically lacked tailored financial products catering to their unique consultancy operational models.
ICAB leadership commended the innovative initiative, noting that access to premium international wealth management and corporate financing empowers domestic audit firms to expand operational capacities, invest in advanced data analytics software, and build regional professional consultancy footprints. The partnership also includes joint institutional symposiums on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) financial auditing, international tax transparency frameworks, and corporate fraud prevention mechanisms.
Standard Chartered Bangladesh Chief Executive Officer Naser Ezaz Bijoy stated on Sunday night, "Chartered accountants are the frontline guardians of corporate trust and fiscal integrity, and this bespoke banking proposition honors their vital role in driving national economic growth." He affirmed that the bank is committed to offering frictionless, world-class banking solutions that empower Bangladesh's professional intellectual community to scale globally. He concluded by reiterating the bank's century-long commitment to enabling financial innovation across Bangladesh.
