Gold jewellery on display at a shop
The Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) has announced a price reduction on gold in the domestic market for the fourth consecutive time, cutting the price of top-quality 22-carat gold by Tk 3,324 per bhori (11.664 grams).
The adjustment was announced through a press release issued by the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Sunday (October 25), with the new rates taking effect from 10:00 AM. The decision was finalized during an emergency morning meeting following a decline in the prices of pure gold (acid gold/tejabi gold) in the domestic bullion market.
Under the revised pricing framework, 22-carat gold will now retail at Tk 2,20,858 per bhori inclusive of taxes, down from Saturday's price of Tk 2,24,182.
Additionally, the price of 21-carat gold has been recalibrated to Tk 2,10,943 per bhori, 18-carat gold to Tk 1,81,200 per bhori, and traditional-method gold to Tk 1,48,016 per bhori.
Despite the sequential downward revisions in gold rates, silver prices remain unchanged across all categories. The price of 22-carat silver stays at Tk 3,849 per bhori, 21-carat at Tk 3,673, 18-carat at Tk 3,149, and traditional-method silver at Tk 2,391 per bhori.
