Tk 100 prize bonds
The 125th draw of the Bangladesh Bank Tk 100 denomination prize bond will take place on Sunday (November 1). The first prize winner will receive Tk 600,000, while the second prize carries Tk 325,000. In addition, the third prize offers Tk 100,000, the fourth prize Tk 50,000, and the fifth prize Tk 10,000.
Introduced by the government to foster a savings culture among citizens, prize bonds offer holders the convenience of purchasing and encashing them at any time, with bondholders eligible for cash winnings during designated draws. In every draw, every bond carrying the winning serial across all issued series is declared a winner. Under standard operating guidelines, prize bonds purchased at least 60 days prior to the draw date are eligible to participate, with the purchase date included in the count while the draw date is excluded.
According to Section 118 of the Income Tax Act, 2023, a 25 percent tax will be deducted at source from all prize money disbursements. Prize bond draws are conventionally organized quarterly on January 31, April 30, July 31, and October 31; however, whenever a scheduled date falls on a weekend or public holiday, the draw is deferred to the subsequent working day.
