Science and Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam speaks at a press briefing on the Bangladesh AI Business Summit 2026
The ‘Bangladesh AI Business Summit 2026’ is set to take place on November 5, with the aim of accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, business transformation, investment, and innovation within the country. Organized under the theme "AI-fication for Tomorrow’s Economy," the summit is expected to draw approximately 6,000 participants. It is being jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI). The summit, hosted at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center, will be inaugurated by President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
Minister of Science and Technology, Fakir Mahbub Anam, shared these details during a press conference at the Secretariat on Tuesday (November 3). He announced that the inaugural session of the summit will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the ‘Hall of Fame’ at the exhibition center. The Minister noted that the world is currently navigating the Fourth Industrial Revolution, during which artificial intelligence has emerged as a key driver of economic growth and national capability. The summit has been organized with the goal of building a knowledge-based, competitive, and advanced nation. A primary objective of the event is to foster a nationwide, integrated AI ecosystem by successfully applying AI technology across all business sectors—from manufacturing to finance.
A total of 124 domestic and international organizations will participate in this large-scale summit, the first of its kind in the country. The event will feature three thematic sessions. The first session will explore the trajectory of the AI revolution, its applications across various fields, and the policy, skill, and infrastructure challenges related to economic transformation. The second session will focus on strengthening partnerships and collaboration between academic institutions and the industrial sector to drive business innovation and technology transfer. Meanwhile, the organizers have confirmed that the summit will consist of an opening ceremony followed by three distinct thematic sessions. Approximately 27 individuals, including speakers, discussants, special guests, and a chief guest, will participate in the event. The conference will bring together policymakers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, technology professionals, academics, researchers, representatives from technology firms, startup founders, and students. An exhibition featuring around 142 stalls will be held alongside the conference, where both domestic and international organizations, technology providers, and innovators will showcase their products, services, and technological innovations. Five international organizations—four from Pakistan and one from the United States—are set to participate in the exhibition. Additionally, 20 educational institutions—comprising 19 universities and one college—will present artificial intelligence-based projects and prototypes developed by their students. The organizers believe this will provide an opportunity to highlight the students' innovative capabilities and the progress of their research. According to the organizers, approximately 2,000 guests invited by the DCCI (Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry) and the Ministry of Science and Technology are expected to attend. Furthermore, each thematic session will host around 200 invited guests. Key topics for discussion will include the expansion of AI technology in the business and industrial sectors, the transformation of business operations, fostering collaboration between industry and academia, technological innovation, investment opportunities, and the development of responsible AI. The organizers anticipate that the conference will not only promote the adoption of artificial intelligence within the country’s business and industrial landscape but also create new avenues for domestic innovation, technology investment, and international cooperation. Moreover, the event will serve as a platform for building connections and partnerships among students, researchers, entrepreneurs, and technology organizations.
