Five ministers and state ministers visited the Shahid Maruf Stadium in Tangail on Monday afternoon to oversee preparations for the upcoming launch of the national "Farmer Card." Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to inaugurate the distribution and pre-piloting activities at the venue on Tuesday morning.

The high-level delegation included Agriculture, Fisheries, and Livestock Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid, Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan, Posts, Telecommunications, ICT, and Science & Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam, State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque, and State Minister for Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku.
Speaking to reporters after the inspection, Agriculture Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid described the event as a landmark moment."The country's first-ever 'Farmer Card' is being launched from Tangail. This is a historic day for both the district and the nation. We are starting pre-piloting at 11 points across the country, with a goal to complete nationwide distribution within the next four years," he said.Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan noted that the Farmer Card was a key component of the Prime Minister’s election manifesto. He emphasized that the government is systematically fulfilling all its promises to the people.Financial Assistance: State Minister Sultan Salahuddin Tuku confirmed that landless, marginal, and small-scale farmers will receive 2,500 BDT annually along with other incentives.Easy Access to Loans: State Minister Aminul Haque highlighted that the card will facilitate agricultural loans and ensure the delivery of farming equipment at fair prices.

Service Digitization: Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam stated that the card would streamline all government facilities for farmers through a digital framework.Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is expected to arrive at Shahid Maruf Stadium at 10:00 AM on Tuesday. During the ceremony:The PM will personally hand over Farmer Cards and saplings to 15 selected farmers.In the first phase, 1,453 farmers from Tangail Sadar Upazila will receive the benefits.The program will officially launch the pre-piloting phase of the project.The inspection was also attended by former Deputy Minister Abdus Salam Pintu MP, District Council Administrator SM Obaidul Haque Nasir, and senior officials from the local administration.
