A press briefing was held in Chuadanga on Thursday at 12 noon at the Civil Surgeon’s office conference room, announcing that around 1.45 lakh children in the district will be given Vitamin A Plus capsules as part of the upcoming national campaign aimed at eliminating nutrition-related blindness, preventing child mortality, and improving immunity among children.
The briefing highlighted that the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign will be observed across the district on June 28. This year, a total of 1,45,845 children will be covered, including 17,541 children aged 6–11 months who will receive red capsules and 1,28,304 children aged 1–5 years who will receive blue capsules. The programme will be implemented through 8 permanent centres and 896 vaccination centres.
The event was chaired by Civil Surgeon Dr. Hadi Zia Uddin Ahmed, where MCOS Dr. Sajid Hasan presented the briefing. Officials also stressed the importance of ensuring that no child is left out of the campaign through extensive awareness activities.
