The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) has approved a total purchase proposal of Tk 948,11,52,178 for the printing, binding, and distribution of free textbooks across primary, Ebtedayee, secondary, Dakhil, and technical education levels for the upcoming 2027 academic year.
The approval was granted on Thursday (August 6) during a meeting held at the Secretariat, chaired by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.
According to meeting sources, 63 printing firms secured contracts worth Tk 404,02,02,297.39 to print 7,35,80,235 copies of primary-level (Classes 1–5) textbooks across 106 out of 110 tender lots. Additionally, 35 printing firms were awarded contracts totaling Tk 153,91,95,590 to print 3,18,10,732 copies for Ebtedayee level students (Classes 1–5).
For the secondary level (Bangla and English versions), Dakhil, and technical education streams, the committee approved printing, binding, and delivery contracts worth Tk 183,58,45,256 for Class 6 (4,11,61,053 copies across 70 tenders awarded to 63 firms) and Tk 206,59,08,939 for Class 7 (3,84,44,984 copies across 69 tenders awarded to 59 firms).
