A total of 980,815 students secured college seat allocations in the initial phase of admissions for the 2026–27 academic session, while 14,415 applicants missed out on seat allotments at this stage.
The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee published the first-phase results at approximately 7:45 pm on Wednesday (September 16).
Education board data indicates that 995,230 candidates submitted online admission applications across the country, lodging an aggregate of 5,615,525 college choices. The first-round allocation shows that nearly 98 percent of applicants secured placement in a college. Out of the 1,144,687 students who cleared this year's SSC and equivalent examinations, 956,571 applied for college enrollment, representing roughly 84 percent of all successful candidates.
Applicants can access their results on the official central admission portal or via SMS sent to their registered mobile numbers. Selected candidates must confirm their provisional admission by 8:00 pm on September 18. Failure to complete confirmation within the stipulated deadline will result in the forfeiture of both the selection and the initial application.
Results for institutional migration based on candidate preference will be released at 8:00 pm on September 19, followed by the formal admission window running from September 20 to 22.
Academic sessions for enrolled students will commence on September 24. Orientation classes were originally scheduled for September 23, but the date was deferred by a day due to a nationwide public holiday observing the holy Fateha-e-Yajdaham.
Online applications for the admission cycle opened on September 2. Merit lists were determined solely based on SSC and equivalent exam outcomes without an admission test, following a registration fee of Tk 220. To finalize provisional admission, selected candidates must deposit a board confirmation fee of Tk 340, which includes registration, sports, BNCC, Rover/Ranger, Red Crescent, science and technology, and welfare fees.
The Ministry of Education highlighted that colleges are strictly prohibited from issuing transfer certificates (TC) or admitting students outside centralized board approval. Institutional affiliation, academic permits, and MPO enlistment will face revocation if institutions enroll candidates in unauthorized sections or disciplines.
