The International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), widely regarded as one of Dhaka's premier venues for international exhibitions, conventions and large-scale events, has become the center of attraction with the ongoing Bangladesh International Education Expo 2026.
The three-day education fair, being held at ICCB's Gulnaksha Hall, has witnessed an overwhelming response from students and parents. On Friday, the second day of the event, around 10,000 visitors comfortably explored opportunities for higher education abroad, taking advantage of the venue's spacious layout, modern infrastructure and well-organized facilities.
The expo, which began on Thursday, features 35 exhibition booths representing more than 2,500 universities from over 45 countries. Visitors are receiving direct guidance on scholarships, admission procedures, language proficiency tests, visa requirements and career planning under one roof.
The expansive venue has also enabled organizers to host dedicated pavilions for European, Malaysian and UK education providers, alongside business-to-business (B2B) meetings and networking sessions, demonstrating ICCB's capability to accommodate multiple international activities simultaneously.
Throughout the day, students crowded the exhibition stalls to gather information about study opportunities in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Europe and Malaysia, comparing admission criteria, scholarship options and tuition costs. Several banks are also participating in the fair, offering financial guidance and education loan information for prospective international students.
Mehedi Hasan, a student of Titumir College, said the event had made it much easier to meet representatives from universities around the world under one roof. Tasnia Rahman, a student of North South University, said the well-organized environment allowed students to make informed decisions after speaking directly with university representatives.
Mehedi Islam, an official of NCC Bank, said the bank is providing information on education loans of up to Tk 2 million with minimal guarantor requirements to support students planning to study abroad.
Mahmud Galib, Chief Executive Officer of Fair Convenor International, said the strong turnout reflects the growing enthusiasm among Bangladeshi students to pursue higher education on the global stage. Ashikur Rahman Tanvir, Director of Events and Sales at the organization, said Saturday is the final day of the expo, which will remain open to visitors until 8:00 pm.
