Prof Yunus directs Health Ministry to send Nur abroad for better treatment

Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus on Tuesday directed the officials concerned to send Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur abroad for better treatment.
Nur’s wife Maria Akhter, party General Secretary Rashed Khan and senior joint General Secretary Hasan Al Mamun met the Chief Adviser at the State Guest House Jamuna.
Maria Akhter broke down in tears while talking about Nur’s physical condition, said the Chief Adviser’s press wing in a media release.
She said Nur suffered a brain hemorrhage with a broken nose, and injuries to his jaw and spine and he needs to be taken abroad for better treatment.
The Chief Adviser directed the Health Ministry to immediately send Nur abroad for proper treatment.
"We are all shocked by this incident. We have taken all measures for his proper treatment. A judicial investigation is underway into the incident,” Prof Yunus said.
Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul, Environment Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan and Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan were present.
The Law Adviser said a one-member committee led by Justice Ali Reza is being formed to investigate the attack.
The gazette in this regard will be published by Wednesday and the probe committee will complete its investigation within 15 days.
