State Minister for Land Barrister Kayser Kamal conducted a surprise inspection at the Siddhirganj Union Land Office in Narayanganj on Wednesday morning and found no officials present.
Arriving at the office at around 9:00am, the minister waited for approximately half an hour on the balcony. Frustrated by the absence of staff at the scheduled time, he expressed strong displeasure.
“Such incidents are undesirable. Strict action will be taken against those who neglect their duties,” he said, emphasising the importance of accountability in public service.
He said irregularities and corruption within the Ministry of Land would not be tolerated. “If any employee or staff of the land office is found to be non-cooperative or negligent, stern action will be taken,” he said, adding that a government elected by the people must work for the people.
