The government has decided to jointly work with Bishwa Shahitya Kendra (BSK) to promote reading habit among students in the country.
The decision was taken at a meeting between Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and BSK founder Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed at Prime Minister’s Cabinet Division office at Bangladesh Secretariat here today.
“The meeting discussed the ways to develop the habit of reading books among students at primary, secondary, and higher secondary levels,” said Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony.
He also said it was decided in the meeting that the government and Bishwa Shahitya Kendra will work together to develop reading habits among students.
Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon, Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury, State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Newaz Mahmood Khyom, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj and Prime Minister’s advisers Mahdi Amin and Dr Zahed Ur Rahman were present.
