A formal case has been filed against the authorities of Ad-din Hospital in Moghbazar, Dhaka, following the deaths of six newborns allegedly caused by medical negligence.
The case was recorded at Ramna Police Station on Wednesday night following a complaint lodged by a relative of one of the deceased infants.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Ramna Zone confirmed the development, stating that the plaintiff accused the hospital management of gross professional misconduct and negligence leading to the fatalities.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the families allege that the infants died due to a lack of proper care and institutional failure at the facility.
Law enforcement officials stated that a thorough investigation has been launched to verify the claims and determine the extent of the hospital’s liability.
Police assured that necessary legal measures will be taken based on the findings of the probe.
Meanwhile, the incident has sparked significant tension in the hospital area, with bereaved families demanding an impartial investigation and exemplary punishment for those responsible.
