State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam on Monday sought Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency’s (TİKA’s) specialised cooperation in implementing educational initiatives for homeless children, alongside building sustainable climate resilience in vulnerable regions.
The State Minister had a meeting with the visiting high-level delegation from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) to discuss expanding bilateral development cooperation.
The delegation was led by TIKA Vice President Dr Ali Ercan, who is currently on an official visit to Bangladesh from June 7-10.
TİKA has been actively implementing sustainable socioeconomic and humanitarian projects across Bangladesh since 2014.
Acknowledging Bangladesh's climate vulnerabilities, Dr Ali Ercan recommended a high-level Bangladeshi participation in the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference (COP), which will be hosted by Türkiye.
He reaffirmed TİKA's ongoing commitment to supporting Bangladesh's national development priorities, particularly in critical sectors such as education, disaster management, and capacity building, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Both sides expressed optimism that this meeting will further strengthen the longstanding ties between Bangladesh and Türkiye, paving the way for impactful, future-focused institutional collaborations.
