Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam today said the present government is working tirelessly to improve the quality of education, develop modern educational infrastructure and ensure the delivery of important public services.
"The government is conducting transparent and malpractice-free public examinations to uphold academic standards and ensure that deserving students receive fair evaluation based on merit," he said while addressing a function marking the inauguration and foundation stone-laying of several development projects in the public health and education sectors in Madhupur, Tangail.
The minister said that, alongside creating a modern learning environment, ensuring access to safe drinking water remains one of the government's highest priorities, according to an official release issued here today.
He said the government is fully committed to the overall development of Madhupur, adding that a series of projects are being implemented to strengthen education, healthcare, communications and public service infrastructure in the area, which would significantly improve the quality of life of local residents.
During the visit, Anam laid the foundation stone of a 100,000-litre capacity water reservoir at Kakraid High School under a project of the Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE). Once completed, the project is expected to ensure a continuous supply of arsenic-free and safe drinking water for local people.
Later, the minister inaugurated the newly constructed four-storey academic building of Jatabari Fazil (Degree) Madrasah. He also inaugurated newly constructed four-storey academic buildings at Ganggair Nazmul Islam Fazil Madrasah, Madhupur Adarsha Islamia Kamil Madrasah and Shalikha Fazil Madrasah.
Before beginning the day's official programmes, Anam visited the grave of late Sohail Talukdar, former Jubo Dal leader of Madhupur, offered prayers for the departed soul and met members of his family.
