The Department of Social Services (DSS) has extended the application deadline for the recruitment of data collectors and supervisors under the Family Card implementation programme until 12:00 pm on July 28.
The extension was announced in an emergency directive signed by DSS Director General Shah Mohammad Mahbub on Saturday.
According to the directive, the decision was taken because recruitment activities could not be completed within the original timeframe in several areas due to adverse conditions and unavoidable circumstances.
The department instructed authorities to complete the verification, evaluation and examination of both newly submitted and previously received applications and publish the final list of selected candidates by July 30.
Recruitment examinations already underway in some areas may continue as scheduled. However, local committees have been given the option to temporarily suspend examinations and conduct a single assessment for both new and existing applicants.
Local committees have also been authorised to decide whether to postpone or proceed with examinations scheduled for July 25 and 26, depending on local conditions. If the examinations are held as planned, a separate assessment must later be arranged for newly registered applicants.
The directive clearly states that no written examination will be allowed during the recruitment process. Candidates must instead be assessed based on practical and viva examinations, along with their academic GPA, in accordance with the prescribed marking scheme.
The Department of Social Services said a revised schedule for training and subsequent activities will be announced after the publication of the final selection list.
The department has instructed all committee chairpersons, member-secretaries and officials concerned to follow the guidelines strictly to ensure the timely and smooth implementation of the Family Card programme.
