A preparatory meeting on the upcoming presidential election will be held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban today with Acting Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal in the chair, said a press release from the Parliament Secretariat.
Earlier, on August 6, the Election Commission (EC) announced the schedule for the presidential election.
According to the schedule, the deadline for submission of nomination papers is August 13. The nomination papers will be scrutinized on August 16, while the deadline for withdrawal of candidature is 4:00 pm on August 18.
Voting in the presidential election will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on August 20 in the Jatiya Sangsad session chamber.
