Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday assured foreign investors interested in investing in Bangladesh of all necessary support from his government.“Bangladesh currently has a favourable environment for investment,” he said when a delegation of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) paid a courtesy call on him at the meeting room of the Cabinet Division at Bangladesh Secretariat.
An eight-member AmCham delegation, led by its President and Mastercard Vice President Syed Mohammad Kamal, attended the meeting.
The AmCham representatives told the Prime Minister that the organisation’s new committee took charge around two months ago and is working to attract more US investment to Bangladesh and further strengthen commercial ties between the two countries.
Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, Prime Minister’s Adviser on the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Science and Technology Rehan Asif Asad, and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority Executive Chairman Ashik Chowdhury were present.
