BNP Standing Committee Member and Political Adviser to the Prime Minister Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee Member and Political Adviser to the Prime Minister, Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, emphasized that former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia maintained an uncompromising stance throughout her political career regarding Bangladesh's independence, sovereignty, and democratic rights.
Speaking as the chief guest at a doa and milad mahfil organized by the Supreme Court unit of the Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum at the Supreme Court Bar Association auditorium this afternoon to commemorate Begum Khaleda Zia’s 82nd birthday, Rizvi paid rich tribute to her lifelong political struggles.
"The rare and unprecedented harmony between Begum Khaleda Zia's words and actions remains firmly established in her political history. It is precisely why she continues to hold an indelible place in the hearts of the people. Whether she was leading the government or spearheading grassroots movements for the restoration of democracy, she never wavered from her solemn commitments to the nation," Rizvi remarked.
He further elaborated on her firm diplomatic and nationalist principles, stating, "She never muted her voice when advocating for Bangladesh's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the fundamental welfare of its citizens. She remained entirely undaunted by external geopolitical power dynamics or the perceived might of foreign entities."
Highlighting her pioneering legacy in gender development and social progress, the BNP leader noted that the nation will perpetually remember her far-reaching contributions to women's education, empowerment, and legal rights.
Underlining her lifelong commitment to constitutional governance and the rule of law, Rizvi observed that she consistently honored legal and judicial procedures throughout periods of severe political adversity.
"She sought to unite and safeguard the entire nation under an umbrella of democratic protection, upholding that principle steadfastly until the very end," he added.
The commemorative gathering was attended by Attorney General Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kazal, Supreme Court Bar Association President Barrister A. M. Mahbub Uddin Khokon MP, BNP Law Affairs Secretary Barrister Badruddoza Badal, Supreme Court Bar Association Secretary Advocate Mohammad Ali, Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum Organizing Secretary Gazi Kamrul Islam Sajal, and Member Secretary Advocate Gazi Touhidul Islam, among other senior jurists and legal practitioners.
