The government has formally released an allocation of BDT 7.5 million (Tk 75 lakh) to finance targeted vocational training and self-employment initiatives for freedom fighters and their children for the 2026–27 fiscal year.
The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs announced the funding disbursement through an official administrative order issued under the signature of Deputy Secretary Dr. Asaduzzaman.
According to the official circular, the funds have been disbursed under the grant allocation for the flagship program titled "Training and Self-Employment for Freedom Fighters and Their Children."
To maintain administrative transparency and fiscal compliance, the ministry has established a series of mandatory operational conditions for managing the allocation. Implementing agencies must update all relevant data regarding beneficiary training associations (Prashikkhon Samity) on the official ministerial web portal, maintain the released capital within an interest-bearing Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR) account, and ensure transparent distribution directly to targeted beneficiaries.
The ministry strictly directed all concerned administrative bodies to deploy the resources exclusively for approved vocational purposes in compliance with national financial and procurement guidelines. Furthermore, the authorities must submit a fully certified expenditure and operational progress report—detailing program execution, bank balances, and any unspent capital—to the ministry by June 20, 2027.
The Director General of the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) has been designated as the authorized Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) for the BDT 7.5 million fund. The BRDB Director General will draw the sanctioned capital from the Office of the Chief Accounts and Finance Officer of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs at Segunbagicha in Dhaka and oversee the efficient execution of the program.
