Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman
Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman has urged the public and civil society to hold the BNP-led administration accountable by constructively pointing out any flaws or mistakes in governance.
He made the call on Wednesday (August 26) while addressing as chief guest the award distribution ceremony of a talent hunt competition organized for visually impaired and transgender individuals by the Institute of Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) at Hotel Sheraton in Banani, Dhaka, marking the observance of Eid-e-Miladunnabi (SAW).
Lauding the humanitarian initiative, the Law Minister said that enabling visually challenged individuals to flourish in society is among the noble acts of service. He noted that the Institute of Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) has long been dedicated to nurturing talent among the visually impaired and commendably expanded its initiative three years ago to include transgender persons, emphasizing that they are equal citizens who deserve dignity and human rights.
Urging active citizen engagement in nation-building, the Law Minister stated:
"If the government makes a mistake, point it out directly with your finger. We must leave behind a livable country for future generations. When one works, mistakes may occur, but we must correct those lapses and move forward following the noble ideals of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)."
Underscoring institutional reforms to ensure sustainable democracy and the rule of law, the minister emphasized building a governance structure where fascist tendencies can never resurface:
"Opposition must not be merely for the sake of opposition. Those who chose to close their eyes during past injustices and killings must open them now. Everyone must step forward from their respective positions with a sense of duty to rebuild the nation."
