Prime Minister Tarique Rahman
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has expressed profound shock and grief over the extensive loss of lives and widespread devastation caused by the catastrophic flash floods and landslides in Nepal.
In a formal condolence message dispatched on Wednesday (August 26), the Prime Minister extended heartfelt sympathies to the Prime Minister of Nepal, Balendra Shah, and the friendly people of the Himalayan nation on behalf of the Government and the people of Bangladesh.
Conveying national solidarity during this unfolding tragedy, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman stated:
"I am deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of numerous precious lives in the devastating floods across Nepal. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families enduring this irreparable loss."
Reaffirming Dhaka's steadfast commitment to regional solidarity during humanitarian emergencies, the Prime Minister emphasized that Bangladesh stands firmly by Nepal during this severe natural catastrophe and affirmed that the government is fully prepared to extend all necessary relief and rescue assistance.
He also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and offered deep condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in the disaster.
