The Anvir Bashundhara Group (ABG) Foundation distributed food assistance among helpless people affected by river erosion in Daulatpur upazila of Manikganj on Wednesday.
More than 300 affected families received 25 kilograms of rice each at Chak Haricharan Government Primary School in the afternoon. Shayla Kabir, wife of Manikganj-1 Member of Parliament SA Jinnah Kabir, attended the event as the chief guest.
District Jubo Dal Convener Kazi Mostak Hossain Dipu, Joint Convener Asif Iqbal Rony, District Swechchhasebak Dal Joint Convener Kazi Nadim Hossain Tuwel, Daulatpur Upazila Jubo Dal Member Secretary Abdus Salam and former Upazila Jubo Dal Vice-President Lokman Hossain, among others, were present.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the ABG Foundation for the humanitarian assistance.
Speaking at the programme, the chief guest said they would always stand beside helpless and vulnerable people. She said the ABG Foundation’s humanitarian support was not limited to Manikganj and was being extended to people in need across the country.
