Bangladesh and Pakistan have underscored the importance of parliamentary diplomacy, reciprocal delegation visits, and expanded people-to-people exchanges to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.
The development unfolded during a bilateral meeting between Barrister Kayser Kamal, MP, Deputy Speaker of the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad and head of the Bangladesh delegation, and Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, on Monday (September 14). The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) in Cape Town, South Africa.
According to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat on Tuesday, both leaders discussed several issues of mutual interest in a cordial and constructive atmosphere. Deputy Speaker Kayser Kamal formally invited the Pakistani Speaker to visit Bangladesh at a convenient date, while Sardar Ayaz Sadiq reciprocated by extending an invitation to both the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Bangladesh Parliament to visit Pakistan. Parliamentary delegates from both nations were present during the bilateral session.
