Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad on Tuesday stated that no form of suffering, negligence, or injustice toward Hajj pilgrims will be tolerated.
He made the remarks while presiding over a coordination meeting held at the ministry conference room at the Bangladesh Secretariat, where Hajj quotas for 2027 were allocated among 30 approved alliances and lead agencies. Emphasizing that both government and private track pilgrims fall under the ministry's protective mandate, the minister urged private agencies to perform their duties with absolute diligence to prevent harassment. He instructed ministry officials to resolve administrative requests within 24 hours, warning of strict accountability against unnecessary red tape.
State Minister for Religious Affairs Mohammad Shamim Kaysar informed the meeting that Saudi authorities have initially fixed Bangladesh's 2027 Hajj quota at 78,500 pilgrims. After setting aside the designated allocation for government management, the remaining share will be distributed among private agencies.
