Attorney General Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kazal Meets President at Bangabhaban
Attorney General Barrister Md. Ruhul Quddus Kazal paid an official courtesy call on President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at Bangabhaban in Dhaka on Wednesday evening (September 23), holding discussions on strengthening the rule of law, expediting pending constitutional litigations, and ensuring accountability across state legal representation.
During the audience, the Attorney General extended his warmest felicitations to Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir upon assuming the office of the President, briefing the head of state on major ongoing institutional reforms within the Attorney General's Office aimed at ending undue trial delays and safeguarding state fiscal interests.
President Mirza Fakhrul emphasized that government law officers must operate with unyielding integrity, professional competence, and strict fidelity to the Constitution, ensuring that justice is dispensed equitably without political favoritism or administrative overreach.
Briefing reporters following the high-level meeting at Bangabhaban on Wednesday evening, President's Press Secretary Md. Sarwar Alam stated, "President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir urged the Attorney General and his law officers to discharge their constitutional duties with exemplary professionalism, impartiality, and transparency to uphold the supremacy of the Constitution and guarantee justice for every citizen. The President assured full institutional backing to modernize the state legal machinery."
The Attorney General reaffirmed his office's commitment to expediting landmark constitutional reviews, recovering embezzled public funds through aggressive courtroom advocacy, and maintaining judicial independence in coordination with the Supreme Court registry.
