Water Resources Minister Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie
Minister for Water Resources Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie has asserted that any leader found involved in narcotics, harassment, or illicit activities will have no place within the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). He made the remarks as the chief guest at an introductory meeting of the Mohila Dal held at the Titarkandi Fazil Madrasa grounds in Charshahi Union under Chandraganj upazila of Lakshmipur on Thursday afternoon (October 22).
Addressing the gathering, Annie declared that under the tenure of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, and with him serving as the elected representative of Lakshmipur, unlawful practices and muscle politics will not be tolerated. He emphasized that leadership positions within the Jubo Dal will be entrusted strictly to individuals of integrity, warning that intimidation with weapons or extortionist politics in Lakshmipur belongs to the past.
The minister further cautioned party workers against colluding with former Awami League operatives or engaging in unlawful acts for personal financial gain, stating that Tarique Rahman's leadership permits zero tolerance for corrupt compromises. Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Vice President Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy, local BNP leader Abul Hashem, Chandraganj Thana BNP President Belal Hossain, and District Mohila Dal President Sabera Anwar were among those present at the event.
