Textiles and Jute Md. Shariful Alam
State Minister for Textiles and Jute Md. Shariful Alam has stated that there appears to be a clear nexus between the opposition party announcing plans to topple the government through a long march in December and the ousted autocratic regime claiming from abroad that it will return the same month.
He made the remarks as the chief guest at a protest rally and demonstration organized by the Narsingdi District BNP on Monday afternoon (September 21).
Addressing the opposition, he remarked: "You claim that you will push us out and topple the government. From this platform, I want to make it clear that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party is dedicated to public welfare, peace, law and order, and overall development. We will face the electorate again after five years and present a full account of our work to the people."
Questioning the opposition's political rhetoric, the state minister added: "On one hand, you complain about fuel shortages, yet you deploy hundreds of vehicles for road marches without running short of fuel. You threaten to overthrow us, but we remain steadfast in working for the stability and well-being of our citizens."
Shariful Alam concluded with a firm warning: "God willing, we have the confidence to stand before the public after five years. If we deliver results, the people will support us. To those dreaming of bringing down this administration through intimidation and sudden pushes, be warned: we are on the streets, and we will remain on the streets."
