JAGPA spokesperson Rashed Pradhan
Branding the BNP government a "new oppressor," Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA) spokesperson Rashed Pradhan warned that the country will face mass starvation if the party remains in power for a five-year term. He criticized the administration over fuel and gas price hikes, LPG cylinder costs, fertilizer shortages, market syndicates, and rampant politicization.
He made the remarks as the chief guest at a party event organized by JAGPA's Naogaon district unit at a community center in Naogaon town on Friday afternoon (October 16).
Declaring that the people will not succumb to famine or intimidation, Rashed Pradhan stated that he embraces the spirit of martyrdom championed by Islami Chhatra Shibir, warning opponents that threats will not silence them. Reaffirming an uncompromising stance on national sovereignty, he asserted that Bangladesh will never become an Indian province nor permit the rise of any new autocracy.
He voiced frustration over the chronic neglect of northern Bangladesh, highlighting that beyond Rajshahi city, both the Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions lack genuine infrastructural and economic development. Recalling the sacrifice of martyr Abu Sayed from the north during the recent uprising, he declared their readiness to launch another "July-style" movement if necessary. He emphasized that this broader confrontation is neither to elevate the 11-party alliance nor Jamaat to power, but rather a vital struggle to safeguard Bangladesh, eradicate Indian hegemony, and establish justice.
Presided over by Naogaon district JAGPA General Secretary Mohammad Asaduzzaman, the meeting was also addressed by Naogaon district Jamaat Secretary ASM Sayem, Khelafat Majlish Naogaon President Rezaur Rahman, AB Party Naogaon Convener Kazi Atiqur Rahman, and leaders of the 11-party alliance.
