Bangladesh Krishi Bank has appointed Major (Retd.) Sarkar Tarek Ahmed as its Chief Security Advisor, effective 20 January 2026. The appointment aims to modernize and strengthen the bank’s overall security framework, risk management, and strategic security planning.
Major Tarek Ahmed, a 28th BMA Long Course graduate, served in the Bangladesh Army, including in the President’s Guard Regiment and United Nations peacekeeping missions, before voluntarily retiring in 2010.
He brings extensive experience in the banking sector, having previously held Chief Security Officer (CSO) positions at Rupali Bank PLC, Sonali Bank PLC, NRB Bank PLC, Mutual Trust Bank PLC, and BRAC Bank PLC. At BRAC Bank, he also served as Senior Manager overseeing Legal Support, Special Asset Management (SAM), Branch Risk Management, and General Administration.
An alumnus of Rangpur Cadet College (SSC & HSC) and Chittagong University (Bachelor’s), Major Tarek holds an MBA from Northern University and a postgraduate diploma in Human Resource Management (HRM) from IPM, Dhaka.
