On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the country’s renowned industrial conglomerate Deshbandhu Group has started selling essential commodities at affordable prices. The items available for sale include rice, lentils (masoor dal), chickpeas, sugar, soft drink Friends Cola, and Deshbandhu Mango Drink.
The sales program was inaugurated on Thursday (19 February) at Karwan Bazar in the capital by Farooq Ahmed, Director General of the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate.
Among others present at the event were Sebastin Rema, Director of the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate; Brigadier General (Retd.) Zakir Hossain, Additional Managing Director of Deshbandhu Group; Kazi Hasan Ahmed, Adviser to Deshbandhu Group; Md. Idrisur Rahman, COO of Deshbandhu Food & Beverage Limited; Arif Hossain, General Manager of Deshbandhu Group; along with other officials.
Officials of Deshbandhu Group stated that this initiative is not driven by commercial motives; rather, following the model of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB), the Group has come forward to support the general public. The sales program will continue throughout the month of Ramadan.
